Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy M36. It brings One UI 9.0, the brand's latest custom Android interface. Based on Android 17, it offers many changes and upgrades over One UI 8.5, which we will discuss in a bit. The company seems to have released the update first in its home country, South Korea.
The update carries firmware version M366KKSU7DZJ5 (via Mohammed Khatri). However, there's no information on the package size at the moment. The tech giant should release it in other regions over the next few days. You can check its availability and get it by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
One UI 9.0 brings a more customizable Quick Panel, refined user interface elements, and improvements to Samsung Notes, Creative Studio, Interpreter, and Document Scan. Other additions include enhanced accessibility tools, stronger protection against suspicious apps, and a dedicated Warranty and Care section for checking device coverage and running diagnostics.
The Galaxy M36 was one of the few devices that didn't get the One UI 9.0 beta program. This means the phone's owners are among the last to get their hands on the new software. Anyway, Samsung launched the device with One UI 7 (Android 15) and promised to offer it six major OS upgrades. This means that the phone is eligible for One UI 9.5 as well as One UI 10.0 (Android 18).
