A few months ago, Samsung USA seemed to have given up entirely on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Nearly every trace of the phone disappeared from the online shop, with no word on whether it was coming back. And that unknown status continued for months.

In a surprising twist for those tracking the Flip 7 FE’s apparent market stumble, the phone is back. Samsung USA quietly restocked it, and you can now buy the 128GB version for $899.

Should you? It's no secret that some of us are not fans of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, but it is an option nonetheless. Still, it is far from the only one in this price range.

Normally, we would point anyone wanting a Flip-style foldable toward the excellent Galaxy Z Flip 7 (the non-FE version). But if you cannot stretch an extra $200, you still have alternatives beyond the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.

In select markets, including the USA, you can not only buy the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE for a lower price than the standard model, but also spend less on older Flips refurbished by Samsung itself.

A couple of standout examples include the Certified Re-Newed Galaxy Z Flip 5 with 256GB of storage, which goes for $649. Then there is the Certified Re-Newed Galaxy Z Flip 6 with 512GB of storage, available for $879.

Keep in mind, the Flip 7 FE costs $20 more than the Flip 6 and is technically the weaker device. Both have 2600 nits peak brightness on the inner display and 1600 nits on the cover screen, and visually they are very similar.

However, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 uses the stronger Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip instead of the FE’s Exynos 2400. It also comes with 12GB of RAM instead of 8GB. On top of that, the Certified Re-Newed options offer significantly more storage for less money.

So, if you are set on a cheaper Flip than the Flip 7 and do not want a Certified Re-Newed device, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is back. Just keep in mind Samsung's online shop gives you other options that may offer more value for your money.
