Samsung has released an update for Samsung Notes with a changelog entry that says an âAI watermarkâ has been added. We checked the app to see what that means, and the change is easy to miss.
Samsung Notes includes Galaxy AI tools that can automatically format a note, summarize it, correct spelling, and translate text. After you use one of these tools, the app shows you the result in a pop-up before you decide what to do with it.
On Samsung Notes version 4.4.48.15, that pop-up now displays the message âThis text was generated using AIâ beneath the result. We spotted it while using the spelling and grammar check and auto formatting tools. The message wasnât there before the update.

Samsung already places a visible Galaxy AI watermark on images made with tools such as Creative Studio or the wallpaper generator. In Samsung Notes, the âwatermarkâ is a message below the text in the result preview.
It lets you know Galaxy AI was used without placing a visible mark over the text itself, so you probably donât need to worry about this update making your use of AI in your notes easier for detection tools to spot.
