A few days ago, Samsung released the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy Tab A9 series in South Korea. Now, the update's reach has been expanded, and it is now available in India. This is the second major Android OS update that has arrived for the entry-level tablet.
You can read about all the One UI 7 features here.
Samsung has started rolling out the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy Tab A9+ in India. The update arrives with firmware version X210XXU6DYE1 and has a download size of around 2.5GB. It doesn't include the May 2025 security patch, though, as it is still on the March 2025 security patch.
If you have a Galaxy Tab A9+ and live in India, you can check for the new update right away. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Once the update is downloaded, tap the Install Now button. The tablet will then restart after a few minutes, and you will be able to use One UI 7.0.
The update will be released in other countries and regions in the next few days.
The One UI 7.0 update brings a new UI design, featuring newer and more playful animations and transitions that are a lot more smoother. It has separate pages for Notifications and Quick Panel. Notifications appear in bigger, pill-shaped elements. Multiple notifications from the same app appear in a stacked layout. Quick Panel is now a lot more customizable and includes the volume slider.
It brings new app icons, more widgets (for home screen and lock screen), a new widget styling, a new battery icon, a new battery animation, and Large Folders for the home screen. All the stock apps have received new features and design. The Camera app now has a more accessible design.
The update also brings the Now Bar feature. It displays ongoing activities, such as media playback, stopwatch, timer, and Google Maps, on the lock screen and on the status bar.
The built-in Photo Editor and Samsung Studio (Video Editor) have received more features as well. The Photo Editor can create freeform Collages and Collage Stories. Calendar and Weather apps has received new features as well. You can group alarms and customize them.
