Google has announced the launch of its NotebookLM app for Android, iOS, and iPadOS. If you like Google's AI-powered tool for research, taking notes, or understanding complex topics, you can now install it on your Galaxy smartphone or tablet and use it on the go.
Two years after launching NotebookLM, an AI-powered research assistant and note-taking tool, Google has launched its native app for Android, iOS, and iPadOS devices. The launch was supposed to happen on the starting day of the Google I/O 2025 developer conference, but it happened one day earlier.
You can now install the NotebookLM app on your Galaxy smartphone and tablet via the Google Play Store. It was earlier only available on the desktop, so you had to use a computer (desktop or laptop) or a web browser on a tablet to access it properly.
NotebookLM is designed to help you understand complex topics. It can create summaries of long articles on the web and allows you to ask questions about them. You can also upload documents (Word or PDF) and other files to help with research and understand the content in them.
When you are reading an article on the web browser, reading a PDF file, or watching a YouTube video, you can just hit the Share button and select the NotebookLM app from the list to share research material with the app.
The app also offers Audio Overviews based on the files you upload. They are AI-generated podcasts that help you in understanding topics in an easier way. You can download Audio Overviews for offline playback and play them in the background. You can interact with virtual hosts to ask them something or steer the conversation in a different direction.
