Samsung has delivered some meaningful upgrades to this year's mid-range lineup. The Galaxy A57 in particular has much to offer in a slimmer and lighter shell, which would certainly make it a preferred choice for customers who want a phone in its price range.
Wi-Fi 6E support has so far been limited to Samsung's high-end phones only. The Galaxy A57 breaks that trend, becoming the first non-flagship Samsung phone to feature Wi-Fi 6E.
This has been a long time coming. The Galaxy S21, released back in 2021, was the world's first smartphone with support for Wi-Fi 6E. Since then, this standard has consistently been supported on its flagship lineup, including the company's foldable phones.
Wi-Fi 6E relies on 6GHz spectrum to provide double the theoretical data transfer speed from 1.2Gbps to 2.4Gbps. Galaxy A57 users will be able to enjoy the full potential of this upgrade when they're connected to a Wi-Fi 6E certified router.
This lower-latency connectivity is great for users in high-density environments where congestion can often impact speeds. Gamers will experience reduced latency, which also goes a long way in improving video conferencing.
It's a meaningful upgrade that goes a long way in future-proofing Samsung's top mid-range phone for 2026. Given that it's more expensive compared other its predecessor, it's great to see that Samsung has made the device materially better.
The Galaxy A57 will be released on April 10 in select markets across the globe.
