Samsung finally released the Galaxy A56 in the United States today. Other models in the lineup, like the Galaxy A36, have already been available in the country for a few months now. Samsung likely delayed the launch of this device as it would have dented sales of the Galaxy S24 FE.
It's objectively a better device, even though the Galaxy A56 offers exceptional value for money. Since Samsung is charging $499 for the Galaxy A56, customers in the US may want to consider the Galaxy S24 FE deal that the company is currently offering.
The Galaxy S24 FE normally costs $649. A $150 premium over the Galaxy A56's asking price wouldn't sway customers who want a nice phone in a respectable price bracket.
However, Samsung is currently offering a $125 discount on the Galaxy S24 FE. The discount is applied instantly, no trade-in required and no coupon codes to mess with. You can buy the Galaxy S24 FE from Samsung right now for $525. That's just $25 more than what it's selling the Galaxy A56 for right now.
That $25 makes a world of difference. You get a better Exynos 2400e chipset compared to the Galaxy A56's Exynos 1580, as it consistently posts 50% higher Geekbench scores. Its memory is also more advanced and has a higher frequency compared to the Galaxy A56. This means faster performance and better gaming.
The Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on the Galaxy S24 FE is better. The camera setup is miles ahead and also includes an 8-megapixel zoom lens. You also get a better software experience as the Galaxy S24 FE has support for Samsung DeX and it offers the full Galaxy AI experience as opposed to the Galaxy A56.
Yes, the Galaxy A56 gets one extra Android OS upgrade and has a slightly larger battery with faster charging, but the Galaxy S24 FE still outpaces it in all meaningful departments. It's objectively a better buy as long as Samsung only wants $25 more.
This deal may run out so if you were planning on picking up the Galaxy A56, go for the better option instead.
