The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a bigger, edge-to-edge cover display, and Samsung is making sure to take its advantage. The camera app on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 displays more controls, including zoom, Quick Controls, and Quick View (the most recently captured image or video) on the left side of the screen. Tapping the zoom button lets you switch between the phone's ultrawide and primary cameras and offers additional zoom options (2x, 4x, and 10x). If you want more precise zoom controls, you can tap and swipe up on the zoom preset options to reveal a zoom slider.

The Quick Controls button reveals flash, timer, preview, image/video resolution, filters, Motion Photo, and other camera settings. Swiping left and right on the camera viewfinder lets you switch between the camera's modes (Photo, Video, Portrait, and other).

Moreover, you can switch those camera controls between left and right sides of the Galaxy Z Flip 7's cover screen. This would be handy if you don't like the default setup in which the camera controls appear on the left side of the cover display.

Samsung says that these new controls are available on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE as well. Moreover, it will bring this improved user interface to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 with the One UI 8.0 update in the near future.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has also received a slightly better UI for the camera app when it is being used on the inner foldable screen. Samsung has also taken the advantage of the bigger screen by offering side-by-side previews of edited and unedited images in the built-in image editor.
