Apple has always offered a better ecosystem experience on its platforms compared to Samsung's, but Google and Samsung have been constantly working together to improve that aspect of Android. They worked together to improve Quick Share and Wear OS. In the future you may be able to get a device synchronization experience on Galaxy devices that is even better than Apple's.
Samsung probably has the most complete ecosystem of devices that ranges from smartphones and wearables to home appliances and TVs. That ecosystem could improve further through a feature that Google is developing. Android Authority reports that Google is working on a feature called Handoff that can sync apps, media, and even notifications across Android devices signed into the same account.
A tool called App Cast was discovered in Google Play Services, and it points to a feature called Handoff. Based on the new strings found in Google Play Services, which are tied to the Handoff feature, notifications can be synchronized across devices signed into the same Google account. You will also be able share files and media across your Android-based Galaxy devices, such as smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets.
You will be able to stream apps wirelessly from one Galaxy phone or tablet to another. For example, when you're watching videos on your Galaxy Tab and you receive a notification on WhatsApp on your Galaxy phone, you can tap the notification on your tablet and open WhatsApp from your phone on your tablet via wireless app streaming.
While Samsung already offers a similar feature called ‘Continue on other devices,' it only works across Galaxy devices. Morevover, it only offers app continuation for stock Samsung apps, a synchronized clipboard for copy/paste, Wi-Fi passwords, and camera. With Google's Handoff feature, you can access notifications, files, and media as well, and it will work across Android devices from multiple brands.
The upcoming feature would be great for someone who has a combination of Samsung and some non-Samsung Android devices, as the feature is tied to Google Play Services.
