An update has been announced today for Samsung's SmartThings connected living platform. New updates are released for the platform every quarter to deliver enhanced features that help elevate users' lifestyles.
This latest update enhances the integration of SmartThings with the Samsung Health platform, with a particular focus on helping improve your sleep environments. It's the perfect synergy, as sleep has been a core area of focus for Samsung Health.
This update will help you create the best conditions for rest, with sleep environment reports from Samsung Health. It will provide information about factors that influence the quality of your sleep, such as temperature, humidity, light intensity, and more, with the data being fed through SmartThings-enabled devices and sensors.
Users who have a Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring can now have SmartThings automatically adjust the resting environment based on actual sleep and wake times. For example, routines can be set up to open the curtains in the morning and dim the lights at night.
SmartThings also supports recurring schedules for routines now, with users being able to set weekly, monthly, or annual schedules. This update integrates SmartThings routines with Samsung's 2025 TV lineup, enabling users to include their entertainment preferences in smart home routines, whether it's turning on their favorite news channel in the morning or switching to a specific channel at a set time to never miss their favorite show.
Samsung's connected living platforms gets a new broadcasting feature as well, which lets users broadcast voice messages across SmartThings-connected speakers throughout the home, further simplifying in-home communication.
Lastly, the company has added support for Matter 1.4, the latest version of the popular connected device standard, ensuring compatibility for even more smart home devices.
