Since Samsung is finally done with the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7, all eyes are now on its high-end smartphone lineup for the next year. Some information about the Galaxy S26 Ultra was recently leaked. Now, more information about the Galaxy S26 lineup and its cameras has leaked.
A report from WinFuture claims that Samsung's internal codenames for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra are NPA1, NPA2, and NPA3, respectively. NPA stands for ‘Next Paradigm,' and it is a logical next step forward over the Galaxy S25 series' internal codenames: PA1, PA2, and PA3.
Apparently, NPA2 features a 50MP ultrawide camera. If this information is correct, it is a massive upgrade over the Galaxy S25+'s 12MP fixed-focus ultrawide camera. A higher resolution camera should be able to capture more details. It will also bring the ability to capture 8K 30fps videos. Samsung will likely equip it with an autofocus lens.
The report does not reveal information about the NPA2's telephoto camera, but says that the device could either be called the Galaxy S26+ or the Galaxy S26 Edge. The report also talks about the possibility of Samsung doing away with the base model in the Galaxy S26 lineup.
A recent report claimed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra (NPA3) has a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
Ideally, the base and Plus models in the Galaxy S26 lineup should feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. This will result in better image quality and the ability to record up to 8K resolution videos using all the rear cameras.
