A few days ago, Samsung started teasing the Galaxy M36. The mid-range phone succeeds the popular Galaxy M35 from last year. The South Korean firm has revealed most of the Galaxy M36's features, including its AI capabilities. However, we have noticed a weird downgrade compared to the Galaxy M35.
Let us have a look at it.
The Galaxy M36 now has a dedicated teaser page on Amazon India's website. It reveals the phone's design and many of its hardware and software features. As you can see from the image below, the phone has an Infinity-U display with a U-shaped notch and Gorilla Glass Victus+. That is a downgrade compared to the Galaxy M35's Infinity-O display, which looks a lot more aesthetically pleasing.
The phone comes in three colors—Orange Haze, Serene Green, and Velvet Black—and has flat sides. Samsung mentioned on that webpage that the Galaxy M36 is just 7.7mm thin, which is 15% slimmer than the Galaxy M35 (9.1mm). It has a 50MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, it has a 13MP selfie camera. The phone can record 4K 30fps videos using the front and rear cameras.
Despite using the same Exynos 1380 chip, Samsung claims that the Galaxy M36 can capture crisp images and videos. With the help of the automatic Night Mode, the phone is said to offer better image quality in low-light conditions. Its camera also features an AI Depth Map, Night Portraits, and Multi-Frame Synthesis.
Other features of the phone include Object Eraser, Image Clipper, and Edit Suggestions. It also has Circle To Search, Gemini Live, and AI Select. AI Select is something that is generally available on Samsung's high-end and premium mid-range phones. So it is nice to see it trickle down to a lower mid-range phone like the Galaxy M36.
