The Galaxy S26 series brings one of the smallest amounts of upgrades in the Galaxy S lineup. Considering that, it was expected to be sold in lower numbers compared to the previous Galaxy S series. Surprisingly, that’s not the case, at least in Samsung's home country, South Korea.
According to industry sources, early estimates suggest that the preorders for the Galaxy S26 series in Korea could surpass 1.5 million units. In comparison, the Galaxy S25 lineup pre-orders in the country stood at 1.3 million units, which was the highest in history (via Ice Universe).
If this turns out to be true, Samsung will be setting a new record. In other words, the Galaxy S26 series may be the most successful Galaxy launch in history. Allegedly, industry insiders say that the strong demand is driven by hardware upgrades (which are minimal), new AI features, and aggressive promotional offers, which include free storage upgrades, device trade-in programs, and financing plans.
Speaking of the Galaxy S26 series, yesterday, Samsung informed us that all three phones in the lineup feature displays with an 8-bit color depth, contrary to the brand earlier saying that these devices have screens with 10-bit color depth. This has created a stir in the tech community. Do watch our video below to learn more about the top-of-the-line model, the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
