The Galaxy S25 Ultra might not have a 1-inch camera sensor or a 6,000mAh battery that Ultra phones from other brands have, but it has outsold all those phones combined by more than 8x. That shows Samsung's brand power that it has built over the decades.
By the end of May 2025, Samsung sold 8.39 million units of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Now, tipster Ice Universe revealed the sales figures of Ultra phones from all the other brands. According to recent data, 586,000 units of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra were sold globally, while 219,000 units of the Vivo X200 Ultra were sold. OPPO reportedly managed to sell around 210,000 units of the Find X8 Ultra. All three of these brands combined sold nearly 1 million units of their flagship Ultra phones this year.
Chinese brands are jam-packed with high-end hardware compared to Samsung's phones, but they are not available in most markets outside of China. While some devices are available in select European markets, their prices are a lot higher than in China. More importantly, most of those phones are not sold in Canada and the USA. Even if people get those devices imported, they face issues related to network compatibility, warranty, and repairs.
These numbers reveal Samsung's market dominance and brand power. They also show how strong the company's performance is compared to any other Android rival in the high-end smartphone segment. The South Korean firm has spent more than a decade in expanding its market reach in terms of marketing, sales, after-sales, and carrier partnerships. And doing those things costs a lot of time and money.
