Samsung teased yesterday that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have bigger screens, better hardware, and Ultra-grade features. But exactly how big are the upcoming foldable phone's displays? A reliable source has revealed the sizes of both screens on the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
There have been multiple reports about the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and some contradict with the others when it comes to screen measurements. However, reliable industry insider Ross Young has revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 7's cover screen measures 6.49 inches diagonally, while its foldable screen measures 8.00 inches. That is exactly similar to the screen sizes of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition that was launched last year.
In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6's cover and foldable screens measure 6.3 inches and 7.6 inches diagonally. Despite featuring bigger screens, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to be powered by the same 4,400mAh battery as its predecessor. So, it remains to be seen if Samsung manages to eke out similarly long (if not longer) battery life as compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which is more power efficient than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that was used in the Galaxy Z Fold 6. So, maybe the power efficiency improvements will come from the chipset rather than the display itself.
Previous reports have revealed that Samsung has not improved the wired or wireless charging speeds, as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 features 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The phone also features Qi 2.1.0 (Qi2 Ready) for wireless charging with magnetic alignment using separately sold Qi2 Ready cases.
